A fantastic early Divided Back Era (circa 1907-1915), embossed, original vintage postcard. Featuring Santa Claus, wearing a long brown robe, walking through the woods with a reindeer. Santa is carrying a Christmas Tree over his shoulder and a woven basket filled with toys on his back. He also has a yellow lantern that is lighting the way for them. Notice the sled with more toys in it, behind Santa, which the deer appears to be pulling. GORGEOUS gold highlights! OUTSTANDING! The caption reads, 'A Merry Christmas'. Series 16. Printed in Germany! Measures approximately 3.5 x 5.5 inches. An excellent vintage postcard with outstanding graphics!
The condition is VERY FINE! Name written in pencil on the back; not postmarked. There's just a little edge and corner-tip wear with a bit more at the upper-left corner-tip which has a small crease; also there is just one small crack to the gel finish at the top-edge. There are NO tears, and the interior image of Santa Claus is MINT! TRULY A GREAT RARE FIND! Note that "eBay ID PostcardPalace" is on the scanned images only, not the postcard. This has been stored in a rigid sleeve.
